Seaweek Educators’ Expo 2009
A Climate for Change – Education and Action

The Department of Fisheries is proud to host the Seaweek Educators Expo - Western Australia's premier education experience for Seaweek in 2009 - at our marine education and research facilities at Hillarys Boat Harbour.

Seaweek is the Marine Education Society of Australasia's major annual campaign to increase understanding and appreciation of the sea and its living organisms.

The theme for Seaweek in 2009 is "A Climate for Change - Education and Action"

It is hoped this year's theme will increase awareness of the issues around climate change and highlight aspects of Australia's unique biodiversity, the threats to our unique coastal and marine ecosystems and the actions in place to regenerate and rehabilitate and in turn reduce the stresses that are placed on the environment.

Seaweek Educators Expo is a fantastic learning and professional development opportunity; you can network with like-minded educators, meet knowledgeable marine and coastal educators and find out the latest in marine education in Western Australia.

Seaweek Educators Expo is suitable for Primary and Secondary teachers, pre-service teachers, environmental educators, and anyone interested in learning more about marine education in Western Australia.
