Flowing Through the Current

The NMDC was proud to host an exhibition by year five students from St Mary's Anglican Girls' School in June this year.

The exhibition, entitled Flowing Through the Current, celebrated the students' term work by joining art and science together!

Flowing Through the Current - painting

An excursion to the NMDC provided the students with scientific knowledge of WA marine life and habitats impacted by the Leeuwin Current as well as great tools for poetry and descriptive writing. Students were also inspired by the artworks in the building foyer created by Roger Swainston and Pascal Leclerq.

The project culminated in beautiful student artworks, using a variety of techniques including stencils, illustrations, stitch work and painting on canvas, which were displayed in the NMDC foyer.
